Positioning the device
Position the device on a solid, level, heat resistant surface and ensure that there is sufcient
ventilation around the device. The distance between the back of the device and the wall
should be a minimum of 10 cm, the space between the top of the device and any shelves or
other objects should also be 10 cm and there should be a gap of 5 cm between the sides of the
device and any walls or objects. This means that the device may not be positioned in cupboards
or similar places.
When selecting a suitable base for your grill and oven, please note that the feet of the grill can
leave marks on the base you have chosen.
Do not position the device in the immediate vicinity of water, e.g. sinks, washing bowls or in
damp cellars.
Starting up the device
1. Unpack your new electrical grill and oven as well as all accessories.
2. Before using the device for the rst time, the device and all accessories must be cleaned to
remove all packing residues. Simply clean the accessories in hot water with a little washing up
liquid and then dry thoroughly.
3. Wipe down the casing of the device with a damp cloth and then dry it carefully.
4. Once the inside and outside of the device are completely dry, plug the mains plug into the wall
socket.
5. Now switch the device on without any accessories or food. Leave the door of the device com
pletely open.
6. Set the temperature control (1) to 250° C, and using the function selector switch (3) select
upper heat, lower heat or upper and lower heat.
7. Set the timer (4) to 15 minutes.
4

Note: As the heating elements have been greased slightly, a slight odour may come from the
device when it is switched on for the rst time. This is perfectly normal and disappears after
a short period of time.
8. Once the device has switched off automatically, return the function switch (3) to the OFF setting.
9. Pull the mains plug out of the socket and wait until the device has cooled down. Clean the
inside of the device with a damp cloth and dry it again.
Operation
Grilling and baking
1. Remove the grill rack (6) and the baking tray (7) from the oven. If necessary, cover the grill
rack with baking paper or brush oil or butter on the baking tray.
2. Place the food you wish to bake or grill on the rack (6) or the baking tray (7) and push it into
one of the rails. Please make sure that there is sufcient space between the food to be grilled
or cooked and the interior wall and heating elements of the device.
Close the door of the oven whilst cooking.
Important notice on grilling: When grilling using the grill rack (6), the glass door must remain
open a little bit. If you close the door it clicks into this position just before it closes completely.
3. Select the temperature required using the temperature selector switch (1.). When you are
grilling, always select the highest temperature (250° C).
4. Then, using the function switch (3) select either upper heat (e.g. for browning), lower heat
(e.g. for cake) or upper and lower heat (e.g. for pizza).
When grilling, always select upper heat.
5. Set the required cooking / baking time using the timer (4). The maximum period for baking or
grilling is 60 minutes. The control light (2) shows that the device is on.
If the cooking / baking time you require is less than 25 minutes, please set the timer to 60
minutes rst and then move it back to the required baking / grilling period. If you wish to
preheat the oven, add this time to the actual cooking time / baking time. The switch moves in
an anti-clockwise direction towards zero.
6. After the set period of time has expired, the device switches off automatically. If you wish to
switch the device off before the set time has expired, turn the timer back into the OFF posi-
tion. A ringing tone can be heard and the control light switches off. Note: After the device has
switched itself off, the timer still runs for a short time.
7. To remove the grill rack / baking tray (7), always use the handle (9) included in delivery. To
remove the grill rack, you must hook the little hook of the handle into the rack from above (see
Fig.). To remove the baking tray from the device, you must hook the large hook of the handle
to the edge of the baking tray (see Fig.).
8. After using the grill / oven, switch the function switch (3) back to OFF and allow the device to
cool down before cleaning it or using it again.
Note: If your grill / oven has reached the temperature you have set, the heating elements /
fan switches off occasionally to maintain the set temperature, they turn on again as required.
Cleaning
Attention: Before cleaning the device always remove the mains plug from the socket.
Your new electrical grill and oven has self-cleaning inside walls. Whilst the device is operational,
the walls are cleaned automatically.
5

However, if despite this, the occasional food remains etc. have stuck to the walls, remove them
with a slightly damp cloth. If necessary, mild washing up liquid can also be used.
Never use other (domestic) cleaning agents or sharp or pointed objects to remove dirt. You could
damage the device and its specially coated interior walls.
Never immerse the device into water when cleaning it – you could receive an electric shock!
Before using the device again after you have cleaned it, please make sure that it is completely
dry. Always leave the door open after cleaning.
